Compare two complete shipment plans: one consolidated carton and separate parcels. For each, check route eligibility, packed weight and dimensions, protection, itemised declarations and the total quoted cost. A lower advertised rate per kilo does not establish which plan costs less.
Short answer
Combine only after the selected route accepts every item and the proposed packaging, measurements and total charge have been reviewed. Consider separate parcels for different protection needs, sizes or delivery priorities. Neither choice guarantees savings, faster delivery or customs clearance. For buying-agent orders, the service fee is 6–15% of product order value: the initial payment covers products, seller-to-warehouse delivery and that fee. International freight is confirmed separately after warehouse receipt and parcel measurements, using the route's applicable actual or volumetric weight, and paid before dispatch.
Keep the seller reply, order lines, domestic tracking numbers, available warehouse photos and packing instructions together. Record physical parcels and their confirmed contents separately: one order or waybill does not necessarily represent one carton or one item. Resolve any mismatch before approving the final contents list.
Describe each type of goods accurately, with the quantities and values required for the shipment. Do not compress different items into a vague one-line description. Check the actual product, destination and selected route; a category name alone cannot establish whether an item or a mixed carton is accepted.
Good consolidation candidates
Small, durable goods with compatible packing needs can be candidates for consolidation. Clothing, stationery or household items still need individual route checks. Ask whether the proposed carton changes chargeable weight or needs extra protection, and compare its total cost with the separate-parcel plan.
When to consider separate shipping
Consider separate packing where glass, heavy tools or large items need different protection from other goods. Liquids, cosmetics, batteries, magnets and sharp parts require a product and route review. Splitting a shipment does not make a prohibited item acceptable or guarantee a carrier will take it; ask for an eligible plan before packing.

Check size before deciding
A low product price does not mean low freight. Large mats, storage boxes, lamp housings and rigid packaging can increase volumetric weight. Request outer packed dimensions and gross weight for each proposed plan, including any protective packaging, before comparing the applicable route charges.
Check declaration clarity
Use an accurate item list for either plan, and request clarification if a product description or value is uncertain. Packaging goods separately does not remove declaration requirements or guarantee easier clearance. Retain seller and purchase records that support the declared contents.
Final checklist
Before approval, reconcile the expected parcels with warehouse receipt and the contents that have actually been recorded. Review available photos for visible condition and request clarification about missing items or accessories. Photos do not establish authenticity, hidden condition or complete functionality. Confirm the route, final packing plan and quote, and resolve discrepancies before dispatch.
If you wait for a split order, also check each parcel's Received date and storage days. Storage is free for 100 days from Received; days 101–200 cost USD 0.10 per parcel per day. The maximum is 200 days, after which the parcel is treated as automatically destroyed and cannot be recovered or shipped. A shipping request is not dispatch confirmation.
